Result of Service
• Fully functioning corporate site that satisfies needs of clients and is updated per contemporary web standards.
• New innovative applications to the website while ensuring that all bugs are addressed in a timely manner with minimal site interruptions.

The duration of this consultancy is 12 months at level "A".
Duties and Responsibilities
The United Nations Environment Programme (UN Environment) is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment. UN Environment's mandate is to coordinate the development of environmental policy consensus by keeping the global environment under review and bringing emerging issues to the attention of governments and the international community for action. UN Environment's Communications Division communicates UN Environment's core messages to all stakeholders and partners, raising environmental awareness and enhancing the profile of UNEP worldwide.

The consultant shall report to Head of Web and will carry out the following duties:
• Lead new functionality development for corporate site, unep.org
• Fix bugs for corporate site, unep.org
• Lead innovation for unep.org and web ecosystem
• Ensure that Drupal is up to date with all security updates
• Lead site development for WED

Qualifications/special skills
Academic Qualifications: A university degree in computer science, information systems or related discipline is required.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of work experience in developing websites and web applications is required. Excellent knowledge of Drupal 7 and 8 and track record of developing websites on Drupal 7 and/or 8 for at least five years. Practical experience in all of the following: HTML, CSS, PHP, AJAX, JavaScript and MySQL.

Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in written and spoken English is required; knowledge of another official UN language is desirable.
