Responsible for the technical oversight of a portfolio of youth sexual and reproductive health (YSRH) activities within the Research Utilization (RU) division. Provides technical assistance based upon expertise and knowledge of YSRH evidence based methods and strategies, current best practices, and established operational and research standards to ensure quality and rigorous design for research studies and programs. Builds capacity of country-level, regional or global program staff. Assesses current technical, scientific, managerial and operational efficiencies at the program, regional, or global levels as appropriate. Provides guidance to ensure that YSRH program implementation adheres to appropriate technical standards and guidelines and that programs are technically sound. Provides global scientific leadership by staying current of evolving technical standards, guidelines, evidence, and program developments in YSRH and gender. Responsible for sharing best practices in YSRH and contributing to the knowledge base through participation in scientific forums, technical networks, internal and external youth working groups or meetings. Responsible for the synthesis and translation of YSRH evidence through the development of program curricula and guidelines, learning agendas, peer-reviewed manuscripts, technical briefs, and other knowledge products. Shares new YSRH knowledge/evidence and best practices through collaboration with relevant departments and staff. Actively promotes FHI 360 YSRH programming and research both internally and externally, through a wide range of research utilization activities and strategies including: stakeholder engagement, scale-up, review and input into research protocols and studies, capacity building, provision of technical assistance and knowledge management activities.
- Develop technical standards for FHI 360 YSRH programs and services, based on available evidence and best practices.
- Develop/adapt and deliver skills building sessions to strengthen technical staff in YSRH in relevant programs and services.
- Provide technical leadership for and management of a portfolio of YSRH activities, ensuring high quality of deliverables.
- Participate in resource development activities; making significant technical contributions, including leading proposals or proposal components related to YSRH.
- Responsible for accomplishing assigned job responsibilities, and following the standards and practices of the department and division.
- Responsible for planning and scheduling own work flow and timetables, within area and function guidelines.
- Maintains a constructive dialogue and technical exchange with YSRH and gender field counterparts and technical staff of implementing partners.
- Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with donor/client organizations, relevant government agencies, bilateral and other NGOs.
- Develops tools for the design and implementation of YSRH components.
- Ensures that project implementation adheres to the appropriate YSRH global strategy and remains technically sound.
- Serves as a departmental resource on YSRH and gender activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Demonstrated mastery of evidence based YSRH, gender, and Positive Youth Development programming
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and writing.
- Ability to juggle multiple deadlines and deliverables; able to prioritize own work.
- Strong project management skills; ability to effectively communicate with supervisor, donor, project partners and teams about work flow and prioritization of deliverables.
- Strong understanding of RU approaches and ability to apply to YSRH programming.
- Ensures appropriate and timely technical support to field programs as requested.
- Ensures the quality of implemented technical activities and systems at all levels. Conducts routine coordination with employees and consultants, on-site and in the field.
- Ability to manage own work, while also managing project teams and ensuring high quality deliverables.

- Master’s Degree or its International Equivalent in Knowledge/Information Services, Communications, Education, Environment, Health, Behavioral, Life/Social Sciences International Development, Human Development or Related Field.
- Typically requires 5-8 years of relevant experience in management of large projects and/or programs.
- Has ability to manage projects, set realistic priorities, and plan for the successful implementation of activities.
- Proficient writing and verbal communication skills.
- Relevant computer software skills (including, at a minimum, the standard applications in MS Office).
- Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
- Experience in Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health (YSHR)
Typical Physical Demands:
- Typical office environment, currently a fully remote position.
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift 5-50 lbs.
