ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

WFP has been providing food and nutrition assistance to the Rohingya refugees, including to the almost 1 million refugees who entered into Bangladesh since 25 August 2018 following the uptick of violence in Myanmar.

As the situation stabilizes, WFP and partners assistance is gradually transitioning from news-grabbing humanitarian operation to a more protracted, development-type intervention. Donors as well as other partners need to be fully informed of the importance of the continuing transitional assistance to the refugees as well as the host population in the medium and longer-term context. This requires effectively documenting and communicating to donors in a creative user-friendly manner the various workstreams and concrete results on the ground.

JOB PURPOSE

To provide effective specialized support and technical analyses to policy and programme activities that effectively meet food assistance needs.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

The Programme Associate will work under the overall guidance and supervision of the Programme Policy Officer/ Head of DRR Unit.

The incumbent will be assigned to the following duties:

  • Supports the production of training materials, fact sheets, project reports and content, including participant materials and facilitator’s guides;
  • Support and participate in researches, conducts literature reviews, edits, proofing, drafts and reviews content;
  • Supports the development of and/or enhances approaches, assessments, tools, and other content used to strengthen partners’ capacity;
  • Co-develops/Review the materials, policies and procedures for specific areas/topics identified as needed for the capacity development of partners;
  • Serves as an organizational resource that facilitates application of knowledge, skills, lessons learned and best/promising practices as well as evidence-based CS interventions, approaches and tools from both WFP and external sources;
  • Prepares periodic status reports, annual reports, case studies, etc. in a qualitative and timely manner.
  • Assist in planning, creating and implementing each year's training courses and materials for each project agreed.
  • Schedules and coordinates meetings, takes and disseminates meeting notes and action items;

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of post-graduation degree in English, Journalism, Social Science, Education or related functional area is desirable.

Experience: At least five year of relevant work experience in the field of editing, reports writing, training & capacity building or other related field.

Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Bangla.

Skills : Has experience of an excellent writing and editing, training material development, develop success stories and analytical report writing and familiarity with the special context of refugee affected host communities of Cox’s Bazar.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Contract Type : Service Contract

Contract Duration : Six (6) Months (with possibility of extension)

Nationality : Bangladeshi only

Monthly Net Salary : BDT 103,091
