Minimum age: 22 years old. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.
The purpose of this assignment is to provide technical advice on public health and assist in design, implementation, monitoring and reporting of The Defeat-NCD Partnership programme activities in Rwanda, in support of the Ministry of Health. Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Programme Coordinator for Rwanda, the Public Health Specialist will carry out the following tasks:
National NCD Capacity Building
Community scale up for NCD Services
Affordability and Accessibility of Essential NCD Supplies
Provide leadership and technical assistance to make the provision of NCD supplies simpler and more cost effective in the country
Sustainable NCD Financing
Furthermore, UN Volunteers are encouraged to integrate the UN Volunteers programme mandate within their assignment and promote voluntary action through engagement with communities in the course of their work. As such, UN Volunteers should dedicate a part of their working time to some of the following suggested activities:
Master's degree or equivalent in public health and/ or Graduate degree in Medicine or equivalent, from an accredited and recognized academic institution is required,
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in combination with relevant training and/or professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree
