This position will support the USAID Collective Action to Reduce Gender-based Violence (CARE-GBV) Activity. CARE-GBV aims to foster effective integration of GBV prevention and response frameworks and tools across the Agency’s program portfolio through tasks that aim to achieve broad uptake of actionable knowledge and learning and create vibrant knowledge networks for the GBV stakeholder community.
Engages with USAID and other GBV stakeholders in the US and in country offices. Conducts landscape assessments and stakeholder interviews; uses evidence to develop GBV theories of change, learning agendas and guidance documents; develops knowledge products and trainings; and provides project management support.
- Provides technical support in the development and dissemination of tools, materials, reports, papers, and interventions to support GBV programming.
- Conducts desk reviews and stakeholder mapping and engagement.
- Develops strategies and tools for the design and implementation of specific technical components.
- Leads the design, development, planning, and implementation of global level innovative technical strategies.
- Develops or writes technical briefs, reports, or other necessary materials to facilitate best practices.
- Conducts analysis of program implementation to identify areas for improvement and propose appropriate technical strategy and guidelines.
- Develops presentations for professional meetings and conferences.
- Ensures project implementation adheres to company strategy and remains technically sound.
- Works closely with assigned team to ensure activities are implemented according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Provides leadership and team building.
- Develops and monitors work plans.
- Serves as company liaison to external organizations at professional meetings and conferences as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Applied Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures with providing technical support for gender-based violence prevention and response programs.
- Experience working closely with USAID or other donors supporting GBV programming.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent and demonstrated program/project management skills.
- Ability to influence and collaborate with others.
- Demonstrated proficiency with using Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Ability to problem solve and implements corrective action as needed.
- Bachelor’s Degree or its international equivalent in international development, public health, economics, education, environment, or other relevant field required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Typically requires 8+ years of experience managing data collection or technical assistance. Prefer 5+ years experience working on gender-based violence.
- Has sensitivity to cultural diversity and understanding of the political, contextual, and ethical issues in assigned areas.
- Preference to candidates with experience developing innovative methods of training, learning and knowledge sharing.
- Articulate and professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive fashion with partners and staff.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
- Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO), government agency, or private company.
- This position currently requires working remotely while the FHI 360 offices are closed due to COVID.
- Potential for 10% travel once COVID-related travel restrictions are lifted.
