We have been working in Albania since 1999, earning a reputation for delivering quality programs for children and establishing strong and influential relationships with government and civil society networks.

Save the Children programs cover Basic Education and Early Childhood Care and Development, Child Protection, Child Rights Governance, Health and Nutrition and Humanitarian, implemented in 10 districts of Albania, both urban and rural areas.


In recent years, Albania has created many new laws and policies and Save the Children is well placed to provide practical tools and real field experience to support the government in implementing these to achieve results at scale.


Save the Children has a Country Program Strategy covering the period 2019-2021. Our overall strategic goal is to ensure that all children survive, learn and can be protected. We will focus on reaching the most deprived and marginalised children, who are too often excluded due to poverty, geography, gender, ethnicity or disability. Significant results for children have been achieved in our priority thematic areas and we are working to achieve lasting changes for children of Albania in the longer term.


Save the Children is recruiting for motivated and experienced staff for the position of Procurement and Logistic Officer


Procurement and Logistic Officer main responsibility will be to maintain effective logistic system, supporting the organizational functions of Albania Country office.




•             Supporting the Programme in delivering in-country procurement activities, including relief distributions and procurement of programme/office supplies/assets.

•             Ensuring that programme purchases are made in a timely and transparent manner, that Save the Children procurement policies and procedures are followed at an optimal quality/price.

•             Comply with all procurement procedures; prepare invitation to bid; review offers & prepare comparison table; call the procurement committee; prepare the purchase order; follow up with the supplier; prepare GRN/SRN as required, etc.   

•             Implementing effective stock management thoroughly monitoring stock levels and advising on appropriate stocking distribution to meet project demands.

•             Support and participate in trainings of national staff responsible for efficient running of procurement, security;

•             Preparing a monthly ‘Logistics Report’ on detailing all logistical activities including procurement, and stock reporting, security issues, and other relevant information.

•             Communicating security procedures effectively so they are understood and strictly adhered to throughout the programme and so that briefing, communication, transport and other systems are developed in support of the maintenance of good security for all staff and visitors.

•             Report on evolving security situations and incidents, advice follow up action to be taken and adapt logistics activities accordingly.

•             Complying with and promoting all Save the Children Global policies such as Child Safeguarding, Whistle blowing, Fraud, and Health and Safety.

•             Work with Regional Office to ensure that the staff and assets of Save the Children Albania are safe and secure.

•             Ensure that all safety and security minimum operating standards are met.

•             Support preparation and implementation of staff security guidelines.

•             Support the Country Office compliance with all Save the Children Operating Standards and Operating Procedures.

•             Cooperate and coordinate closely with SC staff other staff in the organization as required.

•             Coordinate the development of supply chain country strategy.

•             Proactively identify suppliers not only in Tirana, but also in the most remote areas of the country and region

•             Manage and be part of projects in distributing materials and services for children.

•             Coordinate the SC fleet, and whenever required, drive to support a project need.



Personal specification:


•             Master Degree on Management and/or Administration

•             Communication skills both written and verbal in order to establish effective relationships with a wide variety of internal and external audiences.

•             Good understanding of the Albanian market.

•             Previous experience in a logistic/administrative role.

•             Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

•             Ability to work in a challenging environment.

•             Solution focused with the ability to work under pressure, quickly and flexibly.

•             Empathy with the values and objectives of SC.

•             Good written and spoken English language skill.

•             Computer literal and internet applications.

•             Driver’s license
