The objectives of WHO's Health emergency (WHE) programme are to design and implement programmes that prepare the health sector to deal with emergencies and that improve health before, during and after crisis.


The incumbent will perform the following duties:
1. Support the collection, analyses, production and dissemination of data/information. This includes supporting the response specific information (what, where, who, how many, how quickly, current status), internal and external situation reports (SitReps), epidemic bulletins, rapid needs assessments, health risk assessments, and the Public Health Situation Analysis; and health inputs into humanitarian needs overviews (HNO), and humanitarian response plans (HRP).
2. Collect and maintain inter-country information from WHO and partners including contact lists, performance monitoring, health indicator data, health situation data, health response data 
3. Closely follow up on the basic geographic analysis for maps and other reports (such as dashboards, SitReps, etc).
4. Upon delegation provide information sharing between institutions, to strengthen access to information from other organizations and clusters, and to contribute to inter-sectoral dashboards and reports.
5. Technically review the information input into the planning and data/information management process on data gathering and analysis, quality assurance, performance monitoring, information, dissemination and management.



Essential: First level university degree in information or data management, computer sciences, statistics, applied math, public health, or a related field.
Desirable: Specialization in information management systems. Specific training in humanitarian response or emergency information management.


Essential: At least one year of related experience in information management, monitoring, and data analysis.
Desirable: Relevant work experience in WHO, other UN agencies; experience working in relevant nongovernmental or humanitarian organizations.


Sound skills in the area of information management, data analysis, and statistics.
Demonstrated ability to design, manage and analyze complex information system projects, computer-based applications and databases, web-based tools
Good level of analytical skills.
Knowledge of programme management and functioning of WHO and the UN system is an asset.

Remuneration comprises an annual base salary starting at ILS 176,621 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
