Job Description

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

1. University degree in electrical or electro-mechanical engineering or equivalent training and qualifications which have demonstrated the ability to plan, design or modify electrical and mechanical systems supporting aerodrome operations.

2. Ten years experience in the installation, modification or modernization, and maintenance of electrical and mechanical installations at large airports, including management/ supervisory experience.

3. Knowledge of high intensity approach lighting systems and of visual ground aids used for aerodrome marking and lighting.

4. General experience in related fields such as civil and mechanical engineering, and familiar with the power requirements of navaids and ancillary aerodrome facilities such as for fuel and water pumping, air conditioning, security of power supplies, electrical and mechanical systems and equipment for diesels, carousels, baggage conveyors, etc.

5. A good command of oral and written English, French or Spanish is essential.

DUTIES

1. Survey existing airport electrical and mechanical installations and facilities, including workshops and maintenance depots.

2. Assess electrical and mechanical equipment and system requirements for the rehabilitation and improvement of airport facilities and services.

3. Assess requirements of national personnel for installation, overhaul and maintenance of airport equipment.

4. Prepare a comprehensive report which will serve as basis for a proposal for rehabilitation and future development of the airports, to be submitted for funding consideration by donor agencies.

5. Perform other related duties as may be required.

SALARY

In accordance with the ICAO Technical Co-operation Bureau (TCB) grading system.
