Organizational Setting

The Information Technology Division (CIO) is responsible for all IT activities within the Organization. CIO performs on behalf of the Organization the following critical roles: defining FAO IT policies and providing strategic advice on IT architecture and standards, governance, policy and operational matters while monitoring organizational compliance; defining the mechanisms for managing FAO's information and data; protecting FAO's information assets and ensuring confidentiality, integrity and availability; ensuring provision of IT services that are core for the Organization's global operations and supporting the information and business processes; coordinating organization-wide IT activities in order to reduce duplication and fragmentation and to increase integration of information data, systems and platforms, mobilizing IT resources from across the Organization; provide IT solutions to HQ and field offices as requested by the business units.

 
 
Reporting Lines

Under the direct supervision of the Information Technology Officer (Digital Solutions area), the consultant will act as senior developer performing the following functions.

 

Technical Focus

The Senior Office 365 Developer is part of an agile development team and is able to transform user requirements into concrete solutions by analysing and testing off-the-shelf plugins, designing components, configuring modules, integrating components and support the customers.

 
Tasks and responsibilities
 
  1. Design, test and debug of SharePoint, PowerApps, Teams and Flow solutions using standard server-side languages and frameworks
  2. Translate functional requirements into conceptual and detailed design of O365 components
  3. Participate in an Agile software development team building high quality and effective software products that deliver real business in the shortest time
  4. Provide technical expertise in the usage of newer Microsoft technologies
  5. Participate in initiatives related to the promotion of the usage of Microsoft Cloud technologies and the migration processes
  6. Participate in technical coordination of the SharePoint on-line platform
  7. Contribute to the integration of corporate systems and tools with O365 modules
  8. Prepare technical documentation as needed
 
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
 
 
Minimum Requirements
  • University degree or relevant educational certification in Computer Science, IT Engineering, Professional Software Engineer or closely related discipline.
  • Working knowledge of English and limited knowledge of one of the other FAO languages (French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Russian) in the case of Consultants. For PSA.SBS, a Working knowledge of English is sufficient.
  • At least 5 years of experience with developing Microsoft based Solutions
  • At least 2 working years of experience in designing O365 solutions

Technical/Functional Skills  

  • 5 years of experience with design and development of workflow, SharePoint solutions and modules
  • 3 years of experience with PowerShell, web services, stand-alone and console applications, web design, CSS, CSS framework (e.g. Bootstrap), HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery
  • 2 working and proven experience in PowerApps and Flow and other Office 365 tools (Teams, OneNote, Planner, etc.)
