The Position:
UNFPA Afghanistan is seeking one consultant to support UNFPA Afghanistan transition from humanitarian resource envelopes towards basic human needs resource allocation efforts, to ensure quality and timeliness of funding proposals and donor reporting in managed through a holistic nexus perspective. He/she will contribute to leading the nexus programming between thematic units such as reproductive health and gender based violence from the donors intended usage of funds as the narrative of prolonged humanitarian funding is steered towards sustainable solutions and basic human needs while optimizing the office’s resource mobilization capacity and demonstrating “value for money” to donors.

Job Purpose:
Under the overall supervision of the Deputy Representative, the consultant will be supervised directly by the Resource Mobilization and Partnerships Specialist, and work closely with members of the Resource Mobilization team, Senior Management Team, various thematic Units including Operations, Communications, M&E, and Heads of area/field offices.
He/she will coordinate nexus synergies between portfolios and promote transition from humanitarian funding streams towards basic human needs and durable solutions. This will be conducted through coordination between units programming of available resources, follow up of adherence to proposals in work plans, financial planning and UNFPA systems. Further tasks will include the timely preparation and completion of quality donors’ reports, proposals, presentations, briefing papers, concept notes and other ad hoc requests as assigned. The nexus and resource mobilization management officer will also take lead on conducting virtual tours for basic human needs partners interested in investing in UNFPA but unable to travel to Afghanistan.

●Ensure coordination among programmatic units, financial flow and business units resulting a 10% increase of basic human needs funding streams during 2026
●All proposals and projects reports to have nexus reviews conducted and streamlined
●4 virtual tours conducted for basic human needs donors
●Contribute to the 2026-2027 Resource Mobilization Strategy to reflect the office nexus transition towards basic human needs in Afghanistan
●Updated and corrected data and information reflected in advocacy and reporting materials to ensure alignment with the new strategic direction of basic human needs
